How the Rules have Changed

The batter box has changed by a few inches. All of the bases changed as well. In 1948 they didn't call strikes or balls. In 1958 the following rules were used: batted and foul ball your out. Also in 1958 they didn't need to touch the bases in order when running. In 1963 bases and boxes must be marked. Also in 1963 the pitcher box expanded by 12 feet by 4 feet. Finally, in 1963 the pitcher couldn't lift their feet when the ball was pitched.
