Abner Doubleday invented the game known as baseball in Cooperstown, New York, during the summer of 1839. No one knows but they think it came from a English game called rounders or Four-old-cat. In 1945 a New York a group of men came together and decided rules for baseball. Some games that are similar to baseball are cricket, rounders, and dogs and cats. Early forms of  baseball were goal ball and fetch-catch.
